48 people have been confirmed dead following grisly road accident at Londiani junction along Nakuru – kericho highway on 30th july 2023 aound 7pm in the evening.

The accident involved truck that was travelling from Nakuru heading to Kericho which lost its control, smashing some matatus, personal vehicles and motorbikes that were around the scene.

The truck however smashed some pedestrians and business peoples who were beside the road involving hawkers and other sellers who were around the roadside.

Rift valley regional commander Abdi Hassan however confirmed the incident at around 11pm and confirmed that atleast 48 people have perished on the same incident while being rushed to the hospital. Also 30 people were injured on the same incident and they are recieving treatment at the hospital.

A doctor in Londiani sub-county hospital has told Fununu that there are more than 50 patients being attended at the hospital from the tragic accident. However it is also said that there are more than 30 dead bodies in the mortuary but others are still in the scene because they are still being wrapped by vehicles.
