How Aldrine Kibet of St Antony brought Mighty Shanderema Boys to end of an Era in KSSA Games


St Anthony will face Dagoretti High School in the boys’ football final following Friday’s semis at the National Secondary School Games in Kakamega County happening in Bukhungu Stadium.

St Anthony brought Shanderema’s memorable campaign to an end with a 1-0 win in the first semi a goal scored by Aldrine Kibet, A form two student of St Antony Boys high school Kitale

On the other hand Dagoreti won through Penalty Shootouts against the Agoro Sare eliminating it from getting to the finals winning the shootout 3-0 after regular time ended in a 1-1 stalemate and extra time failed to separate them.

Kibet’s decisive finish against Shanderema was created by the brilliance of Savan Omondi who sneaked past the home defence with his quick feet to set up his teammate.

Shanderema had started the game on high threatening the away team and almost got an early goal.

The finals will be held at Bukhungu Stadium on Thursday 12th August 2023.

However Agoro Sare and Shanderema School will have to battle for position three and Four for the National Championship while Solidarity Boys( st. Antony and Dagoreti to fight for position one and two
