ICT CS, CHILOBA LAUNCHES FREE HIGHSPEED WIFI IN KIMININI- TRANSNZOIA COUNTY

On Thursday, the ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo led the launch of three Free Public WiFi Hotspots in Trans Nzoia County. These spots are located at Sikhendu Market, Kiminini Market, and Kitale Bus Stage.
The main goal behind this initiative is to facilitate young peopleโs participation in e-commerce as part of Kenya Kwanza governmentโs digitalization plan. This move is expected to revolutionize communication and enable residents of Trans Nzoia County to access free internet services easily.During the launch event, CS Owalo expressed his gratitude towards traders in Trans Nzoia County for their warm reception and support for the project.
He also emphasized that these Free Public WiFi Hotspots will have a significant impact on the economy and social development of the region.The launch was attended by several leaders from different sectors, including Health Ministry counterpart Susan Nakhumicha; Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Gideon Oyagi; Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang (also Senate ICT Committee Chairman); and Communications Authority DG Ezra Chiloba.
